What is a Polygon ID?

A Polygon ID is unique identifier assigned to a polygon. Polygon IDs are auto-generated when the map saves, however they can be edited at any time. All objects such as polygons, locations & events have IDs.

If your venue is not on a sync then you won't need to change the Polygon IDs from what is auto-generated.

If you are using a sync you will want to replace the auto-generated Polygon IDs with values that match your system. These values commonly come from floor plans, leasing plans or CAD files that are used to manage tenant spaces. This is important because the Polygon ID is the value used to assign a tenant to a specific space on the map.

Editing Polygon IDs

Polygon IDs can be edited in 2 ways, first by using the Select Tool & second by using the ID Tool. The main difference is that using the ID Tool it will show the IDs of all manually named polygons on the screen, which is useful if many of them need to be edited. Below are examples of each:
