Available with any of the following products, except where noted:

  • Mappedin Mobile SDK

  1. Prepare for the Survey

    • Download the Indoor Survey app on an Iphone

      • Log in using the same Apple ID used to register the venue

    • Ensure 2.4 GHz connectivity is available.

    • Toggle Location Services ON and OFF on your device.

    • During the survey, forget the WiFi network or leave the WiFi network but ensure mobile data remains on.

  2. Map Walkable Areas

    • Hold the phone perfectly flat in your hand and do not move it to any angles for less errors.

    • Chose a location on a floor to start from and select start survey

    • Tap anywhere on the screen to mark a waypoint every 5 to 10 meters or when changing directions.

    • Color all accessible paths and spaces.

    • Within the app, the center line is the mid point of a 5 meter radius

    • You may need to walk through an area multiple times if it wider than 5 meters

      • If you are doing multiple pass throughs please do not cross mid point lines. It is preferable that you survey without ever crossing the dark orange lines. If the light orange areas overlap it is okay.

    • Continue this process until the survey is complete for the level.

  3. Survey Key Locations

    • Include areas in front of connections.

    • Skip waypoints while traveling up or down a connection (e.g., escalators or elevators).

  4. Submit Survey to Apple for Approval

    • Double-check the survey before submission.

  5. Start Quality Testing

    • Review and test indoor positioning using the Indoor Survey app.
